Why choose Costa Blanca as a place to live?

When I decided to move from Tenerife to Altea in 2021, I didn't expect that every day I would rediscover how wonderful it is to live on the Costa Blanca. I chose this place not only for its incomparable beauty, but also for its quality of life, climate and incredible atmosphere. Today, I can't imagine a better place to live - and if you're considering moving to Spain, let me convince you why you'll find your new, better life here.
A climate that pampers you all year round.
The Costa Blanca is famous for its mild, healthy microclimate, which has been recognized as one of the best in Europe. The sun shines here more than 300 days a year, and the temperatures are perfect both in summer and winter. Rain? There's almost none! And even if it does happen, the sound of the waves and the fresh air make it magical. I won't deny that this was my only fear before moving from Tenerife. After all, on the continent it's windy and rainy in winter - they used to say. Meanwhile, you can count the rainy days here on your fingers, and even when it rains, you get soaked pleasantly when you see the turquoise sea :)
Thanks to this climate, life here is full of energy and optimism. A walk along the promenade, a coffee on the terrace overlooking the sea, a spontaneous trip to the beach... 25 degrees on Christmas Eve :) All this makes everyday life feel like an endless vacation.
Better quality of life and lower living costs.
Comparing Costa Blanca to other regions of Spain, such as Barcelona, Madrid or even Tenerife, life here is much more comfortable and cheaper. Despite their increase, property prices are still more affordable, and daily expenses - lower than in large cities. You can enjoy a high quality of life without overpaying.
In addition, there is a healthy, Mediterranean diet, full of fresh seafood, fish, olive oil and local wines. And if you add to this the lack of stress and daily access to nature, you have a recipe for a happy and healthy life.
What I will always repeat is that we Europeans should learn here how to enjoy every moment, and although it sometimes frustrates us, the Spanish are the best at it. They always have time for a morning coffee with friends, a midday beer (una caña) or an afternoon nap (siesta).
Costa Blanca is for everyone: young people, families, seniors - everyone will find their home here!
- Families will love Costa Blanca for its safety, great schools and plenty of places to spend time actively outdoors. The Spanish lifestyle focuses on relationships and shared moments, which means that children grow up here in a unique atmosphere. In addition, there are countless amusement parks, water parks, zoos and various other theme parks in this area. I will devote a separate article to this topic.
- Young people will find great conditions for remote work, a dynamic social life and an inspiring environment that promotes personal and professional development.
- Seniors will appreciate the peaceful rhythm of life, friendly residents and excellent healthcare, preferably private as everywhere :) Costa Blanca is one of the best places to spend your retirement.
The LGBTQIA+ community can count on openness and acceptance.
Spain is one of the most tolerant and open places in Europe, and Costa Blanca is no exception. Calpe, Altea, Alicante, Benidorm and many more - these are cities where everyone can feel free and safe. There is no room for prejudice here, and life goes on in full joy, respect and harmony. This is a place that often surprises Europeans, especially Poles, how comfortably you can live without any restrictions and stress related to social prejudice. I myself have heard from clients who moved permanently to Spain that the joy of being together has returned to them, and the sun even adds butterflies in their stomachs. But I will devote another article to this topic.
Costa Blanca vs other regions of Spain - why is it best here?
- Barcelona and Madrid - big cities have their charms, but also crowds of tourists, traffic jams and high prices. Costa Blanca offers more peace, nature and much better living conditions.
- Andalusia - hot summers can be tiring, while on Costa Blanca the temperatures are more pleasant all year round.
- Tenerife - although it has beautiful landscapes, Costa Blanca wins in terms of accessibility, cultural diversity and infrastructure.
Is Costa Blanca the place for you?
If you dream of a life where every day is full of sun, peace and new opportunities, Costa Blanca is for you. Regardless of whether you are looking for a home for your family, a place for a new start or a quiet haven for retirement - you will find everything you need here.
I have already made this decision. And I have never regretted it. Maybe you are ready for a change too? ??
